Introduction

The Evolution of Agent Services

As the dynamics of agent services expand beyond agent banking (majorly POS), there arises the need for a viable & expansive agent association.

With service providers from other sectors engaging agents—such as agriculture (extension agents, farm mapping), KYC industry (NIN, BVN, SIM Reg), Energy (solar, CNG), and Lending (loan agents)—AFIAN stands as the umbrella association for all financial inclusion agents in Nigeria.

Our main goal: to alleviate poverty through financial inclusion and empowerment.

What We Do

Our core initiatives driving financial inclusion across Nigeria

Members' Administration

AFIAN supports the welfare and security of financial inclusion agents in Nigeria. We partner with security agents to rid the space of bad heads, fraudsters, and other crimes.

Financial Literacy & Advocacy

Serving as a civil society for the industry, we engage regulators and stakeholders to ensure supportive policies, leveraging physical touch-points across 774 LGAs to extend literacy.

Capacity Building

AFIAN trains and technically exposes members through specialized workshops, conferences, and international engagements.

Partnerships

We partner with government at all levels and private entities on projects and products that support broader financial and economic inclusion.

Neighborhood Financial Inclusion Center (NFIC)

A one-stop center for financial products serving excluded rural communities within the 774 local government areas. This intervention is in partnership with the Federal Government of Nigeria (Office of the Vice-President).

Empowerments

Facilitating and organizing with stakeholders to empower our members and vulnerable individuals within agent localities.

AFIAN Women Wing

Addressing the 53% exclusion rate among women. We aim to increase the current 15% female agent representation to better deliver digital financial services to excluded women, especially in Northern Nigeria.

AFIAN Mall

Facilitating members' access to affordable food, clothing, devices, electronics, cars, motorcycles, etc., through the AFIAN e-commerce platform.
